Extending Law Enforcement Information thru Social Media

The Monday Flag Raising Ceremony was participated by members of the Naga City Police Office, led by the energetic City Director, PCOL NELSON A PACALSO, and his staff, together with members of PNPA Masidtalak Class of 2023 assigned at the office mentioned above. A media interview was held at the NCPO conference room following the event. The City Director, staff, and all station commanders joined the activity. To inform the public of their department's successes and challenges. They also respond to inquiries from the media on the organization's forthcoming events, initiatives, and programs.

Social media has many potential uses for law enforcement agencies. The characteristics of collaboration and interactive communication at the core of social media align well with the goals of law enforcement. Social media provides a potentially valuable means of assisting law enforcement agencies in meeting community outreach, problem-solving, investigative, and crime prevention objectives. In addition, social media can be used to enhance communication, collaboration, and information exchange; streamline processes; and foster productivity. These documents provide procedures for effective agency use of social media and appropriate regulation of employee use of social media.[1]

Open communication, honesty, and accountability are all aspects of transparent leadership. A leader who is open and honest with the public is prepared to provide details about the initiatives, objectives, and difficulties faced by the office. They are also receptive to suggestions and criticism from the general public.

Leadership by informing the public helps to build trust and credibility with stakeholders. When a leader is open and transparent with the public, it sends a message that the organization is committed to being accountable and responsible. The activity can help build a positive reputation for the organization, leading to increased stakeholder support and trust.

The Naga City Police Office holds a news conference for the media following the flag-raising ceremony every Monday. This is one of their Best Practices. The staff and all Station Commanders attended the media appearance, dubbed "Kape at Boses." Provide updates on the problems and successes of their local stations and the Office. They also respond to inquiries from the media on recent developments, planned events, and the organization's plans and programs. The Office above will update and educate the public on the PNP's current activities through practice and protocol. The City Director can actively maintain communication between the company and the neighborhood in this way. In my future role as a PNP officer, I might employ this strategy to raise public awareness of Police activities, objectives, and accomplishments.

Leaders must be willing to share information with their team and be open and honest about their decisions and actions. This helps to build trust and allows team members to understand the rationale behind the leader's decisions. Transparency also promotes a culture of accountability, as team members are more likely to take responsibility for their actions when they know their leader is transparent with them. Exemplary and loyal leadership is essential for building trust and creating a positive organizational culture. A good leader is honest and open with their team and acts with integrity and loyalty towards their organization and community.

The Naga City Police Office's Monday flag-raising ceremony, employee recognition, and media briefing are excellent examples of transparent leadership. The City Director and his team and the PNPA Masidtalak Class of 2023 members inform the public of their successes and challenges while responding to media inquiries. As a Cadet, open communication, honesty, and accountability are important elements of transparent leadership, and this event helps to build trust and credibility with stakeholders. As a future PNP officer, I can use this practice to inform the public about the PNP's initiatives, goals, and achievements, thereby promoting greater community engagement and support.
